The Yangtze Dam, better known as the Three Gorges Dam, reduces the water flowing through the Yangtze river, drying up vulnerable wetlands, greatly harming biodiversity and blocking sediment to flow further upstream. The Baiji, or Yangtze River dolphin, has been brought to extinction through the dam projects.
